  1. Fine Gael’s social media game is shite, coming this late to TikTok is just an example of that.

Of the three big parties, they’ve currently one video of Varadkar asking for your ideas and saying “we’ll get back to you in the next couple of days, or weeks”. The top comment is “resign”. Even the likes of Simon Harris who are fairly good at it have too many videos of them looking weirdly down at their phone walking along talking about something with too much wind noise in the background.

Sinn Féin are reasonably decent. Videos are mostly their northern stuff of Michelle O’Neill doing feel good videos about her background or dancing interspersed with various members at leaders’ questions tearing into the government on issues – Pearse Doherty features heavily here.

Fianna Fáil even have better game, although obviously with less engagement. Videos personalising Michael Martin, videos of him responding at leaders’ questions and defending his record while tearing into the opposition, and then some odd videos of them talking about the past and how they invented education and so on.

  2. To be fair, FG are way behind SF and FF on the TikTok presence.

Not like they have much to say to the generation using TikTok.

  3. Wasn’t it in the news today that he’s actually trying to plan to cut taxes and reduce college fees?
