COLTS NECK, N.J. (News 12 New Jersey) – A school district in New Jersey is considering whether to rename one of its elementary schools after President Donald Trump.
The proposal to rename Conover Road Primary School in Monmouth County is getting mixed reactions from residents.
“I don’t think that things should be named for a sitting president,” Joe Reinbold said. “I mean it’s all right to memorialize them after a while, but it seems like Trump wants everything in this area named for him.”
The school serves students from pre-kindergarten through second grade.
A school board member proposed the idea and wants a committee to study the suggestion.

Some residents said the president hasn’t done anything to warrant having a school named after him.
“I mean, I think he really hasn’t done anything of monumental importance for a school to be named after him,” Mohammad Chater said.
Others disagreed and said the president has done a lot for the country, and naming a school after him would be appropriate.
“I think it’s great. It’s all positive. Trump has really done a lot for our country,” Sonja Gregoire said. “I’m 100% for it.”
