You could argue that Ireland (particularly when it comes to India) were much more colonial than Scotland or even Italy in Abyssinia. It was Irish people that integrated India full and proper into the UK as it was then.

I’m pretty sure Germany was pretty fucking colonial during the “Scramble for Africa” in the late 1800’s.
