Asked if Canada would be “ready to contribute with military forces” if a NATO ally tried to annex Greenland – indirectly pointing to the U.S. administration, which recently threatened to do so – Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters in Oslo Sunday that Canada will continue to “stand with Denmark and Greenland.” He also said his government will back the sovereignty of those nations with unspecified measures “as necessary.”
