My friend from school found in his compost “this”, no one knows what it is but it is or was alive, if you know what it is please comment.

  1. Could be a species of slime mold (“slizovka”). Slime molds are harmless eukaryotic organisms that thrive in humid dark areas with lots of decaying organic matter, which makes compost piles ideal for them.

    They used to be taxonomically grouped together with fungi, but that hasn’t been the case for some time now. Slime molds actually belong to protists instead, and they are basically colonies of many single-celled organisms.
