Elevation in Europe

  1. Average elevation for Spain is too high. High elevation together with [semi-arid (Bsk) climate, are Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Angola, Mongolia and the others, no single developed country](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semi-arid_climate). By international standard, Spain with its massive semi-arid plateau, is too overpopulated. If Spain wants to avoid itself from becoming Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Yemen, it MUST control its population.

Inland US states like Montana and Nevada also have high elevation and semi-arid climate, but their population density is very low. In order to catch up with those poorer US states, Spain should reduce its population. Plateau cannot sustain high population density, once a country with massive semi-arid plateau becomes overpopulated, it is very likely to return to poverty, no solution.

  2. Surprised about Russia being this high, especially compared to the Caucasus neighbour Azerbaijan, or the Altai Central Asian neighbours. Western Russia is basically swamps and plains…

  3. 30 for the netherlands cant be right. 30% is below sea level. A few areas might be 30 or 40+ but most are around 0
