Hey everyone.

So I’m a self-taught software engineer with a degree in mechanical engineering. I’m focusing my job search on Germany now and I came across this article.

https://www.iamexpat.de/expat-info/german-expat-news/germanys-new-skilled-immigration-act-explained

It says that the labour market test has been dropped for “skilled workers”. My question is, would I be considered a “skilled worker” for a software engineering job? Does an employer have to go through the labour market before giving me a job offer?

Some-context: Non-EU with only 1 internship of software engineering as experience. My degree is also recognized according to the Anabin database.

Thank you!
