HLN-boomers going mental again, the world is healing.
25k is an early estimate. Organizers say 70.
Edit: oh yawn. I don’t mean it’s definitely 70k. Just that the number 25 is bound to be adjusted, as it was released very early
Weyts already going with “covid happened, so students may not miss lessons”. Maybe if you’re not in a PFOS scandal, your view would have at least some merit. Can’t believe I liked the guy a few years ago.
If the moron would have taken action on ventilation sooner/still have clear procedures for teaching at home during outbreaks, they wouldn’t have missed as many lessons. Oh and speaking from experience: make sure the teachers follow covid test procedures as they are supposed to do. Because there’s a whole lot of self implemented rules going on.
But hey, don’t want some students taking action against your own idiocy amirite? It’s not like you can avoid this by actually taking some gd action.
Cringe mars
Have these klimaatmarsen managed to accomplish anything substantial?
Edit: ah yes, the classic downvotes for asking (rather important) questions are here.
While it’s great to see people demanding better climate policies, I have to wonder if people realise the impact that their traveling addiction has on it. Policies should change, but so should we.
Everyone wants immediate climate measures, but when fossil fuel and energy prices rise, everyone wants the government to immediately jump in and reverse the price rise.
Climate change is going to make a lot of things a hell of a lot more expensive if we want that immediate and drastic action.
I can understand both points of view, however i am concerned about how the average arbeider will be affected by this. Saving the planet is a noble cause but the divide between the rich and poor is becoming greater. I hope that we can find a solution that won’t hurt the less fortunate and also help the fight against global warming.
After 1,5 year of wrangling to keep schools open in Covid while everything was closed announcing that they’re going to start skipping school again for the climate. Yeah… people on social media are going to love that one.
I’d like to see the ecological footprint of these 25000 activists. Lead by example?
I’m listening: what can/should Belgians – that will not be apocalyptically affected by climate change – do to save people around the equator that want to burn fossil fuels to improve their quality of life?
