Winter-like conditions in Weiler-Simmerberg, Swabia, Germany, as 50 cm of hail falls in severe weather conditions.

  1. I hate hail. We always get a few minutes worth a few times a year, some of it quite damaging. I cannot imagine this— tennis ball to softball size in some places. My sympathies.

  2. I remember it snowing in June 1975 and it seemed a crazy memory for a while, but we seem to get hail now most years in May/June. Not as much as in that photo though. That must be difficult to deal with, including when it all melts quickly.
