The Cyprus League regular season ended on Monday (March 16) with the completion of Matchday 26, finalising the standings for the playoff and playout phases.
AEK Larnaca moved up to second place after defeating Ethnikos Achnas 2-0. Freedom24 Krasava ENY Ypsonas beat Enosis Neon Paralimniou FC 4-0.
Matchday 26 results are as follows:
AEL Limassol – Omonia Aradippou 1-2
Akritas Chlorakas – Pafos FC 0-4
Anorthosis Famagusta – Apollon Limassol 1-1
Aris Limassol – APOEL Nicosia 1-2
Omonia Nicosia – Olympiacos Nicosia 5-0
Freedom24 Krasava ENY Ypsonas – Enosis Neon Paralimniou FC 4-0
Ethnikos Achnas – AEK Larnaca 0-2
Omonia Nicosia lead the playoffs standings with 61 points. AEK Larnaca and Apollon Limassol follow on 53, ahead of Pafos FC (51), APOEL Nicosia (45) and Aris Limassol (43).
The playoff phase will be played over two rounds on a home-and-away basis (10 matchdays).
Omonia Aradippou top the playouts standings with 34 points, ahead of AEL Limassol (33) and Anorthosis Famagusta (32). Krasava ENY Ypsonas and Olympiacos Nicosia have 28 points, Akritas Chlorakas 26 and Ethnikos Achna 23. Enosis Neon Paralimni, bottom with one point already relegated.
The playouts will be played in a single round (seven matchdays), with the bottom three teams relegated.
Phase two beginsMarch 20–22.
14 teams will participated in the league. In the first round, known as Regular Season, all teams played each other home and away, ftotal of 26 games each.
In the second round, the league splits into two groups:
Teams ranked
1–6 enter the Championship Playoffs, whereas teams ranked 7–14 enter the Relegation playoffs.
The teams in the Championship Playoffs play each other home and away for an additional 10 games each, while the teams in the Relegation Playoffs play each other only once, either home or away, for an additional 7 games each.
All criteria (such as points, goal difference, and head to head records) are retained during the transition from first to second round. The team ranked first in the Championship Playoffs are declared champions, while the bottom three teams in the Relegation Playoffs are relegated to the Second Division.
