The guys that cut down most of their forest for farming and grazing, is going to save us that never did?
Nah, I’ll pass.
There needs to be real, honest and expertise forest management in Europe. Some countries only pay lip service, do nothing and close their eyes when everything is burning. Then they cry out for EU funds (again)….
Bye bye, forests.
I wish I could see, somewhere in this or any other sub, a shred of positivity. But knowing r/europe people will just complain, rage, and pour sarcasm and anger over either Eastern or Western Europe. The few comments so far have already started. It’s starting to make me depressed.
I know it is a pipe dream with Portugal’s current financial system but I would love to see the day when the government started to buy up private land (which accounts for almost the entire country) and replanted it with native trees and reintroduced native species as national parks.
Well, since fossil fuels became a thing, EU forests have been regroving at a fast rate…so i have no idea what this mandate is about.
This topic really needs strategy 👍 It is sad to see other parts of the World’s forests being cut down just because we (people) need more places for cattle and food. Earth has it’s limits. When will we stop breeding so much, how many billions of people can Earth stand?
