Greece Internationalizes Turkey’s Revisionism

  1. Oh yeah, in Lausanne’s times the international standard was “territorial waters” of 3nm. It’s ok if we are ok to preserve that.

  2. While we do not have a sane government, Greece is also lost in nationalist rhetoric and greed. Historically, these kind of leaders has led nations to war. Turkey needs to be careful. Greece and Greeks act without care, exploiting bad image of Turkey and I say they also need to be careful and control their greed. What they have in Aegean is good enough.

Greek zealots can ignore this reality and downvote me all they want, doesn’t change anything.

  3. Oh another biased article and many comments from pink ass Europeans whose knowledge on these matters doesn’t go beyond Greece good Turkey Bad. The fortification and arming of the islands is illegal and violating the agreement. Also the claims of both countries about EEZ are ridiculous.

  4. > This was particularly evident in ‘Blue Homeland 2022’, the largest ever Turkish naval exercise, which deployed over 122 warships, fighter jets, air refueling and spy planes, biological and nuclear warfare teams, ATAK helicopters, drones and thousands of soldiers in an area that extended from the Black Sea to the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean regions.

All while the oil price is at record high, authocrats are so stupidly funny all the times.

If Turkey had any hope to stop being a dysfunctional state the population would revolt over the waste of public money and resources.

  5. Turks really be saying “We don’t care about Greece, no one talks about Greece, we have bigger problems to deal with than Greece” right before brigading every news thread about the 8493th invasion threat from their government, while playing the victims.

  6. Personally, I believe Turkey will attack Greece at some point, maybe even this summer. But it will mostly be focused on islands right next to the Turkish coast where Turkey can more easily challenge the Greek army. Their official war justification will be “the demilitarization of the islands and enforcement of the treaties that bound them”. It will be interesting to see how the international community will react.

    You heard it here first.

  7. Visit r/Turkey or read what Turkish people write in this very subreddit. There is obviously a good chunk of Turkish people that want to attack Greece and “drown them in the Aegean waters.” I know that reddit doesn’t represent the country as a whole, but it’s not something not worth noting. For example I have yet to see anything close to imperialistic comments by Greeks in reddit. On the other hand the effects of hate-spewing propaganda are obvious in most Turkish comments.

And even seemingly “moderate” Turkish people, are still claiming they feel “intimidated” of a 10mil country with typical ineffective European bureaucrats.

  8. No shit. Feels like 90% of this internationalisation has happened in this sub alone 😑

Not that i disagree with Greece on the issue, but just posting new soundbites daily has become the second most annoying thing around here, after u/MSG91 ‘s ‘picture of ship being somewhere’ posts 😒
