There is no talks of a lockdown, its just completely misleading. There were talks of an emergency plan limiting the use of car transport. If you want to go do 200km on your bike no one would stop you
This is an “If everything goes completely to shit with fuel imports” worst-case scenario, designed to significantly reduce fuel consumption in the state.
There is very little likelihood that this will happen, but I for one am glad that they’re wargaming the scenarios and planning for it 8-12 months out. At least it’s more notice than we as a country got when Covid blew up.
Completely different “lockdown” and entirely a hypothetical plan for a worst-case scenario. It is good that these scenarios are planned for, we could do without the hysteria that’s greeted with:
