UK: protests force cancelling of “blasphemous” film

  1. Religious fundamentalists of any kind should not have a monopoly on deciding which films are “allowed” to be shown in theatres.

  2. For a group who pride themselves on reading millennia old books and gaining deep insight into the words written, those religions types love to judge a book by its cover

  3. We went through hundreds and hundreds of years of being subject to Christian blasphemy laws, which we only got free of, after a lot of hard struggle, about fifty years ago. We are not going to have anybody else’s blasphemy laws imposed on us. If anybody’s under threat from religious fanatics then they need protection from the state. If the state fails to provide it, then we must and will protect ourselves!

  4. We spent centuries getting out from under the yoke of Christianity now we have to deal with another bunch of medieval morons. Joy…
