Overview of the EFF Program and Financial Prospects
According to earlier reports, on February 26 the IMF’s Executive Board approved a four-year Extended Fund Facility program for Ukraine for 2026–2029, taking into account updated macroeconomic and security conditions.
The anticipated financing will total about $8.1 billion for the state budget, with the first tranche of $1.5 billion already transferred to the budget.
As part of the initiative, Ukraine commits to implementing ambitious structural reforms for post-war reconstruction and advancement toward EU membership, focusing on strengthening fiscal institutions, the tax administration system, corporate governance, anti-corruption efforts, and the development of financial and market infrastructure with support from private capital.
