Get it German people ? It’s not ok to buy a postcard with a 200€ note in Paris !
It’s true for us, we still got a lot of ATMs and even though our retails and stores in general have card acceptance, other places don’t. Like some restaurants and bars/cafes. Photocopy shops. Some other customer service places etc. It’s always good to carry some cash here.
But with entering Eurozone i would think the need for ATMs will decrease.
Germany, Europe’s answer to Japan.
So even old ass people in Northern Europe pay everywhere electronically? Damn I wish, I still have to have cash with me because some places just won’t accept cards, don’t want to risk it.
Estonia is surprisingly high
Lived in Germany for a year. My only gripes were/are it’s outstandingly antiquated banking system and it’s indecipherable public transport system. The latter in Düsseldorf.
I thought the Netherlands would be even lower tbh.
I basically just use cash for drugs these days.
Last time I went to London, I made the mistake to bring some Euro cash and exchange it for Pounds. Didn’t get a chance to use it. Not even the soda machines at the airport took cash.
Imagine using paper and metal like in the fucking middle ages roflmao.
