Onderwijskoepels hekelen beleid Weyts: “Prioriteiten liggen volledig verkeerd”

  1. While I agree with most of what they are saying, I just went to VDAB website and typed in ‘leerkracht’ and found 2674 listings. When I filter on full-time with fixed position (including temp position with fixed option), that number goes down to 428. Who exactly are they hoping to attract in those 2246 other positions?

  3. It would help if not half the teachers quit within 5 years because they can’t get any permanent positions and have to juggle 4 hours at 5 schools that change each year instead.

    Exact waar elke leerkracht op zat te wachten: een hoger loon voor de directie en een éénmalige aankoop van digitale uitrusting.

    So while we didn’t do anything about the fire previously, we are are now peeing on it. And that’s progress!

    Priorities of NVA have always been “moremoneyfortherich” and “funnelingmoneytoexternalparties”, nothing surprising here.

  7. Yeah thats what going to help! Don’t go for supporting the teachers or whatever… My gf, working full time in a school, is pretty much busy every evening after school untill 22-midnight prepping and correcting. If there’s any reason why she would quit, that’s it. Hardly any time off and don’t think you’ll get paid more for it!

  8. My mom was a teacher. She loved teaching but couldn’t get tenure. Because of this she switched schools very often. because of this and the ridiculous amount of paperwork, she stopped and went to private industry… Reform these things and the job might be more appealing

  10. About priorities, one of my pet peeves but here we go again.

    * International tests show level is dropping at age 14-15.
    * Decision in 2016: let’s reform secundary (not Weyts in control at that time but NVA was in governement)
    * (Rant point but I’ll add it to further show the incompetence. Land with the reform half a year before your reform starts to give the teachers almost no time to prepare for this.)
    * 2022: International tests show level is dropping at age 11-12.
    * Flemish governement: errrrrr

    If you reform, start at the base ffs.

  11. I remember when the NVA fought to get the position of education minister after Crevits completely fucked up with M-decreet. And then they put this Smurf on it and made it even worse…
