The Police and Border Guard Department of Estonia (PPA) expelled a Russian citizen from the country on the recommendation of the Estonian Security Police, who had been in contact with the Russian security services.

The Estonian Security Police explained on Wednesday that the expulsion was carried out to prevent and eliminate a security threat, and with a decision banning entry into the Schengen area.

Kudryavtsev arrived in Estonia last week to accompany a family member in order to obtain benefits provided by the Health Insurance Fund (the Estonian organization that provides state health insurance). Kudryavtsev and his close relative both reside permanently in Russia and hold residence permits in Estonia
