It was pretty obvious for weeks that we needed a lockdown again, but our politicians proudly announced that the pandemic was over for fully vaccinated people.
Now the same politicians telling us that we need a new lockdown to relieve our health systems.
As recently as this week in Salzburg the ICU beds were full, we had transport patients to other cities ti get them treated.
I wonder if all of this has something do with the low vaccination rates in our country…
Switzerland is just one week behind Austria in case numbers. We got over 6000 today. But nothing will be decided because we have another vote on Covid legislation on 28 November. My suspicion is they will only enact measures after that.
And here we are. It is insane that an indefinite cycle of lockdowns is even considered. We have vaccinated who we could, the elderly had a chance to recieve their vaccination as well and yet people are being thrown into lockdown once again, disregarding their personal rights. I wish politicians would stop proving conspiracy theorists right.
After 2 years, lockdows and travel restrictions shouldn’t be even considered, at this point it is civic duty not to obey them.
WTF. I completely agree with a lockdown for the no vax imbeciles, but why should the vaccinated citizens endure the restrictions caused by the no vaxxers?
The clown show must go on

Not the best time to go for surgery. You are pretty screwed then. Not a problem for inept and slow powers that be. Another taxpayer is ready to take your place. You’re just a stat on excel sheet.
I start to believe that our (Sweden) of not closing down was the right choice. Even those minor lockdowns in Denmark and Norway seem to have caused a fourth way, while here in Sweden we have the second lowest cases per million inhabitants this week, just after Spain.
Makes sense imo. We have the vaccines AND have probably encountered the virus much more than other countries, which has as well given us a higher natural resistance to it.
Every country who had lockdowns previously are getting bummed right now, and I’m sure it’s because they have much less natural resistance to the virus compared to us.
So vaccines were pointless in a way then, if lockdowns are the answer again.
This will be over when everyone is getting a booster every two months.
So much for restricting only the unvaccinated. Oh well, welcome to the club Austria.
I wonder which country is gonna fall next.
funny thing is that numbers are literally exploding everywhere, they are even **bigger then last year** at this point, even though vaccination program has been going on for almost a year, and significant part of population have recovered from disease.
One would expect at least some decrease in numbers, but the reality is brutal increase, and it appears that everything that has been done so far, has been useless in both fighting the disease, and avoiding the detriments to economy
Here we go again.
It’s weird that we focus on cases when we have the vaccine though. Hospitalizations should be the main metric.
I’m against the green pass on everything but actually was the best choice We could have made
If restaurants and pubs will close on Christmas will be an economic disaster
I prefer anti-vax lockdown instead of destroy economy
