Planning permission for the metro should be in at the end of the year.
If politicians stayed out of it, it would have been in a few years ago.
Curious how Newcastle of all UK cities managed to build an Underground metro in modern times. The only other UK cities outside London to have such systems are Glasgow and Liverpool but their infrastructure was built back in the Victorian times.
