Am I right in saying most of them were purely cargo railways that never had passenger trains? Basically became obsolete with trucks and roadways.
Just shows what good the British actually did in this in this, because the irish government didn’t build this infrastructure
Once the beet factory in Carlow closed because Fianna Fail “accidentally” used the wrong figures it was all over really. Wasn’t particularly efficient anyway and it would be nice to see electric bikes whirr up and down it ASAP.
