BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Bryan Rotary Club partnered with Rotary International to provide a Texas experience to Lithuanians.
The group traveled from Lithuania as part of the Rotary Exchange Fellowship Program. They have been in Texas for 10 days and during their time, they stay with host families which are provided through the Rotary Club.
Some of the activities include attending the Houston Rodeo and NASA, as well as experiencing a Brazos County court session and College Station’s Disaster City.
John Delaney, Rotary District Chairman of the Rotary Friendship Exchange Committee, said the exchange offers a unique opportunity.
“It’s a remarkable experience to have visitors from a foreign country come and see what is unique about where we are on the globe,” Delaney said.
Lithuanian Rotarian Vilma Mazeikiene said her time in Texas has been enjoyable.
“I am really surprised and I am very glad to enjoy and to have a lot of nice meetings and nice people and a lot of great hospitality,” Mazeikiene said.
The Rotary Club said this is the second time they have done this exchange and are planning for more in the future.
