Watching this video [Bike Protest](https://youtu.be/c5wZjhb-hZs) is what made me post this rant. This is my pet peeve about living here. Germany could be another Holland with a fantastic biking infrastructure but anything that impedes car use is considered verboten. Around Frankfurt, where I live, they are spending 100s of millions of euros to connect the 661 to the 66. When completed will make zipping around the city much easier. There’s also major upgrades to the airport and various interchanges around the city. All designed to make car travel more comfortable. Now we do have a half assed cycle autobahn between Darmstadt and Frankfurt, but money’s tight so it’s really pretty basic and will take years to finish.

The sad part is Paris went all in on making it bike friendly while Berlin is still arguing whether bikes should be banned (not true but it feels that way)

Oh and noticed that German’s are falling in love with oversized kick ass American pickup trucks. Not sure what changed but I’m seeing them everywhere now. This in the age of 2 euros a litre gas.

Oh noticed this as well, another controversial highway project, protestor attacked and damaged the concrete plant.

  1. Haha you should try being a cyclist in Sydney. They are so hated there, especially the bike couriers. Germany is amazing compared to that.
