A high-level meeting in Warsaw raised urgent questions about evolving residency rules and access to healthcare for Ukrainians. Key community groups described immediate concerns.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, held a working meeting with representatives of Ukrainian public organizations and associations that support Ukrainians on the territory of Poland.

According to the embassy, which was published on its official Facebook page, the meeting was devoted to discussing upcoming changes in the legal framework governing the stay of Ukrainian citizens in Poland.

Participants paid particular attention to issues of access to social services and obtaining medical care, especially for vulnerable segments of the population, as well as the protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainians under the new legislative conditions.

Joint steps and further coordination

Diplomats and activists agreed to strengthen coordination and rapid information exchange to increase the effectiveness of responding to the daily challenges faced by Ukrainian citizens.

They also emphasize that the EU is considering the possibility of a new extension of temporary residence and employment rights within the European Union for Ukrainian refugees in accordance with the new rules.

Concluding the meeting, the embassy noted: maintaining an operational dialogue with civil society organizations and ongoing coordination between the government, civil structures, and partners is a key factor in supporting Ukrainians in Poland.
