    People tend to forget how heavily SpaceX is subsidised and how much public money go into it.

    I do agree with him. While we could (and should) work together with other nations, Europe should still have its own means and technology to tackle space.

  3. The problem will be that the funding will come from the EU, not ESA members. This will leave some of the ESA members looking at cheaper alternatives (spaceX).

    It will probably mean France want the EU to fund, but France to deliver.
