JPMorgan announced earlier today that it had signed a new lease at 37 Place du Marché Saint-Honoré in Paris, which will provide space for 1,000 people from 2027. The bank has been in the French capital for over 150 years now, mostly in one location – but not exclusively.

As we’ve noted before, JPMorgan likes its French offices to be particularly swanky.
The most iconic building in JPMorgan’s Parisian history is at 14 Place Vendôme. Occupied since 1919, an Instagram video posted by the bank shows in December last year that the office is positively decadent. Gilded doors, chairs, ceilings – you name it. JPMorgan still occupies this building, which is its Parisian headquarters to this day.
This isn’t all, though. There’s also 21 Place du Marche Saint-Honoré across from the new building at number 37. The bank acquired 21 Place du Marche Saint-Honoré four years ago in response to an expected Brexit-related expansion. In the same Instagram video as above, JPMorgan notes that this Honoré office hosts the bank’s continental European trading teams. Bloomberg reported in 2021 that there are six trading floors there. Around the same time, one trader called it a “significant lifestyle enhancement” on his old office in London’s Canary Wharf. “It’s incredible here,” he told us.
21 Place du Marche Saint-Honoré and Place Vendôme are physically connected. The coming office at 37 will be around 300ft/100m away from the entrance of 21 and may be harder to link. There’s also the small matter of Paris’ catacombs to contend with.
When 37 Place du Marche Saint-Honoré opens in 2027, it will reportedly house the bank’s Paris sales and trading business. What becomes of the six trading floors at 21? Suggestions appreciated in the comment box below.
The new building at 37 will reportedly enable JPMorgan to cut three of its Parisian offices. They include its presence in the Perisud business park, 9km from the city centre, which hosts JPMorgan Asset Management. Perisud hasn’t been popular in the past, but doesn’t look too bad: pictures from designer MoreySmith show an office distinct millennial chic. It seems likely that the other two locations are reserved for non-front office Paris employees. They might be happy with their move to 37 when the office is ready for occupation.
