New system at Dublin Airport working efficiently – daa

  1. I went through at 4pm yesterday and moved steadily through security in T1. T2 seemed quiet enough. The queues in the food court moved far slower.

But I am sure there are busy periods and bottlenecks too.

  2. I went through yesterday morning at 4am. The queue for T1 started at the bus stops at T2. It took us about 20 minutes just to get inside T1 (luckily it wasn’t raining as there was some shelter but not much) and another 20 minutes to get to the beginning of security where you scan your boarding card for the first time (usually take 5 minutes max to do this and now it’s 40). Thankfully we didn’t have to drop bags because there was another long queue for that.

There was another 20-25 mins to get through security (neither of our bags were stopped for a random check. If that had happened we’d have been another 20 mins, like the last flight we took). On the opposite side there wasn’t a hope of getting a coffee or breakfast. The queues were absolutely mental. I have never seen the airport so busy. It’s an embarrassment. Genuinely the worst airport experience I’ve had anywhere in the world. I’m gobsmacked that the DAA think this is efficient.
