Boris Johnson urged by two more Tory MPs to step down over Sue Gray’s partygate report | Politics News

  1. >The announcements by John Barron and David Simmonds follow a similar call by their backbench colleague Julian Sturdy on Wednesday.

I think we are up to about 25 now

  2. >The latest statements mean that there are now 18 backbench Tory MPs publicly calling for the PM to quit

    18 is absolutely pathetic

  3. The constant drip feed of these is far more damaging than there being a leadership contest. If you don’t want the Tories to get another term in office then you’ll be hoping Johnson is their leader by the election

  4. They wont be invited to his next BungaBunga/Spin The Bottle/ Bring a Bottle/ ‘Another leaving’ party!

  5. Reminder: we don’t know how close we are to a VONC. There is likely some who submitted a letter and stayed quiet about it. Graham Brady ain’t gonna tell us.

  6. Problem is: we remove Boris and get another dickhead that knows much less than the last, having to wing it and hope for the best…

  7. And he shall say “MAKE ME, BITCH!” whilst hiding in a fridge. If Labour has a beer late at night whilst working with a colleague after restrictions have been lifted, that’s bad but if boris has several parties whilst everyone else has to stay at home, not even get a chance to say goodbye to dying loved ones etc,, that’s good.

At this point, if boris publicly praised Putin and gave Scotland to Russia, he still won’t be kicked out. Just warned.

  8. I have zero respect for these 18, the spineless fucking pieces of human waste, those oxygen thieving cunts should have done this years ago. I hope to god the current tory party all burn in hell.

  9. “Two more Tory MPs too weak to put letters into the 1922 committee for fear of Boris’s reprisals ask him if he’ll step down”

    FTFY

Theyve got the mechanism to get rid of him, theyre just too spineless to use it

  10. This really seems like the best time to have a general election, with so many issues currently in play that we’re not a thing during the last election. We should really get another say since the situation has changed so much since 2019.

I am actually surprised that people are not on the streets protesting given the state of things. I have always been an optimistic person, but it is impossible to be optimistic in the current climate.

  11. Better yet, pressure them to call a snap election. Not much point replacing him with another scumbag Tory. GET THEM OUT!

  12. I just don’t get why Boris is so important it’s worth ditching all your morals over to keep him.

Surely they realise they are killing their future election as an MP?

  13. I’m honestly struggling to understand what is going through the minds of Johnson’s defenders.

“Let’s move on, what about Starmer, it wasn’t even that bad, etc, etc.”

It can’t just simply be a lack of willingness to be seen to be wrong.

  14. He’s not going anywhere. Why would Tory MPs let anything as unimportant as morality [or even the law] get in the way of their lust for power.

  15. “But who on earth would replace him?”

Says the party where all 300 apparently admit they are worse than Boris the incompetent liar.

That’s quite the statement when you think about it. None of the MPs who will vote him out believe they are as competent as Boris Johnson is.

Which is a good enough reason for all of them to be removed from their positions

  16. Fuck me… just have a law where if the PM breaks the law, he has to fucking go.

We don’t live in a time anymore where we can trust these people to do the right thing.

    Power grabbing wankers.

  17. >Mr Simmonds said it was “clear that while the government and our policies enjoy the confidence of the public

    [X] Doubt

  18. A large number of redwall MP’s may not be re-elected anyway they should do the right thing and put their letters in

They won’t because they want to sit on the gravy train a while longer

  19. He can’t resign! He needs to stick around so he can roll up his sleeves and make this right!! After all, he’s just a bad widdow boy!

  20. I firmly believe there has to be a tactical reason to keep Boris here longer than needed. It must be beneficial for their election chances by keeping the poison dart in the leg.

  21. torys are finished. the local council elections were a sign of things to come. my guts telling me this is the last time in this generation that tories will hold government. maybe it will be their end, seems unlikely, but enough damage can end the party all together. giving hope to new modern aged parties.

  22. Seriously think he won’t go from No 10 until being dragged out by the roots of his unruly idiotic hair

  23. Percy Wetmore: [yells repeatedly as he brings John Coffey in] Lame duck! Lame duck walking! We got a lame duck walking, here!

Paul Edgecomb: Jesus, please us! What is he yelling about?

Percy Wetmore: [continues yelling] lame duck! Lame duck walking, here!

[he walks inside, leading a cuffed John Coffey]

Percy Wetmore: We got a lame duck walking, lame duck walking, here…

  24. When you are accused of something, your defence is:

    I did not do it.

But if your did do it, your defence is:

    You can’t prove it

But if it is priced a your have no defence whatsoever, your defence is:

Oh, go on, let me off!

  25. I hate politics. Why does he need to resign? Why can’t we just fire the dipshit. Do not pass go, do not collect your ridiculous pension, GTFO and go rely on your “chicken feed” from writing shitty columns.

  26. The problem isn’t just Boris, the whole rot of the toady, embezzling tories needs to be removed, root and all.

Get rid of those who promised and pushed brexit for their own gain and our expense.

Get rid of those who care so much for NHS “heroes”, gave them a worthless pay rise compared to the one they gave themselves.

Get rid of those who saw a cost of living crisis on the horizon and did nothing for us.

Get rid of those who argue that those who seek our lands as a respite from terror and horrors should be sent to Rwanda.

Get rid of those who partied again and again while our relatives were in hospital fighting COVID and we couldn’t visit them because we were following the rules.
