On March 18, the CFTC published a notice in the Federal Register formally withdrawing a June 2022 request for information (RFI) on climate-related financial risk in derivatives and underlying commodities markets. The withdrawal, effective March 16, followed President Trump’s signing of Executive Order 14154 on January 20, 2025, which, among other things, revoked Executive Order 14030 on climate-related financial risk. Citing the revocation and existing commission regulations providing a uniform regulatory framework that addresses financial risks, the CFTC withdrew the RFI.
