The Kabul Tribune (KT) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, has rejected reports of negotiations between Iran and the United States in remarks to Iranian media. He said that Iran’s position on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending the conflict has not changed.
At the same time, Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, also stated that no talks have taken place between Iran and the United States, calling such reports “fakenews.”
Ghalibaf said that Iran seeks the “complete punishment of the aggressors,” adding that all Iranian officials stand with their leader to achieve this goal.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said that Tehran and Washington had held “productive” talks over the past two days.
