I visited Sweden last week, I spent my time in Lund, but also visited Malmo and Helsingborg. I like the country, the system, but it’s so windy, not sure I could get used to it 🙂
What I also didn’t like is the dependency on the internet and contactless payments. I had to pay 99kr for a Comviq SIM with 500MB only just to be able to ride public transport, and a lot of places don’t take cash… not a place for elderly people who are not using credit cards.
Anyways, here are some videos I made during my trip of the things I found interesting there, so maybe it will help someone planning a visit there as well. I hope you’ll enjoy them, especially the one of landing, the rapeseed fields are so beautiful

You visisted Skåne which isnt part of Sweden. It’s part of Denmark.
*Mentions visiting only towns in Skåne* “It’s a bit too windy”
Elderly people not using cards? Maybe 10-20 years ago, but now? Around here even the holdout shops started taking cards during the pandemic, and a lot of places recommended card only.

You can use a payment card on the public transports here, though on the city busses (the green ones) you can only by a full price ticket, meaning you can not get the discounted student ticker or the “child” (under 20) ticket. For the trains there are ticket machines and on the yellow busses you can buy a ticket I front at the driver. But sure I do agree that the reliance on apps has its pros and cons.
You can get a reusable card for 30 SEK to carry your ticket.
Thing is, people tend to prefer and demand using their mobile to carry their ticket, so maybe nobody knew about options to inform you about it.
Needing internet for public transport? Do Skåne not have buss-cards or are you just stupid?
I feel your pain. One day, I didn’t get internet connection at the train station in Göteborg and had to go to a counter to get my ticket.
Another day, I had a short stop in a village called Hällekis where I got no connection at all and my day ticket ran out while waiting for the train. Then the man on the train shared his personal hotspot with me so I could pay another one via app because it’s much cheaper than buying from him.
The whole cashless and digital thing is great until it doesn’t work. 😂
