Secretary Marco Rubio Testifies in Federal Corruption Case in Miami

MIAMI — Secretary of State Marco Rubio will testify Tuesday morning in the federal trial of  former Congressman David Rivera, who has been accused of secretly lobbying for the Maduro regime during President Donald Trump‘s first term in office.

Secretary Rubio, who has been a close friend to Rivera, will most likely be asked about any and all interactions he has had with Rivera during his term in the U.S. Senate and as Secretary of State.

Rivera was a awarding a whopping 305-style $50 million lobbying contract by then Foreign Minister and current acting Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez, to allegedly help former Dictator Nicolas Maduro curry favor with lawmakers in Washington, D.C.
Interestingly enough, the same Venezuelan government who allegedly paid Rivera also put out an assassination order against then-Senator Rubio, who recently played a significant role in helping take down the Maduro.
