Cavans busiest bar and nightclub can only afford €11 a hour then it’s not at all busy
I bet loads are packing up from there rented properties all over the country to relocate to cavan and seek there fortune on 10-11 euro an hour, part time as well so you have lots of free time to enjoy spending your 200euro a week, how exciting, what a wonderful opportunity for someone
Get paid fuck all to work like a dog in a busy spot where owners clean up. Fuck that. Cavan people boycott this place until they pay fair wages.
i say this every time i see it – when i started working in nightclubs 10 years ago you were paid €10 even though minimum wage was around €7.50 – €8 at the time, you always would get more than minimum because of the hours, the customers etc, but now the minimum wage is over €10 and they still haven’t matched bartenders wage with it which is an absolute disgrace. it’s more about exploiting desperate students now because they know they will find someone who will work for nothing.
I don’t know wtf is wrong with Cavan, but it has shittiest wages, they have fuck ton of factories around, but most will pay 10.50, and act like their giving you a fckn million, to work like a dog.
This place was charging €13 entry in 2010.

What would you expect from people who peel oranges in their pockets
I’m not sure why everyone is always shocked about bar staff getting paid this, when childcare workers who most all have level 8 degrees and some even master level in Early Years Education also get paid 10€ an hour
For a Cavan man thats like paying 50 to 60 an hour.
Great way to top up your salary from your full time job and be able to buy a bag of groceries after paying your landlord’s mortgage, I mean your rent.
