  8. He shouldn’t be saying this, but as controversial as possible, he has a point. Ukraine can’t win this war with their territory intact. They heavily rely on western support and they win battles because they’re in defence. Soon the public will get bored and switch to another big thing, Javelin and artillery supply from the west dry out, and as soon as Ukraine forces turn to offence they will suffer great losses.

  9. Not to jump on Macron hate wagon, but the most of the western countries, and by extension their politicians do not have the same will to fight Putin as Polish people do. They just want business as usual, and more access to relatively cheap resources, preferably. As simple as.

    In addition, Putin has done a remarkable job corrupting anyone he could and funding all the right – wing nationalist elements in many countries across the world.

    Hence all the talk of letting him save face, both sides bearing responsibility, and letting him keep the land he already got a hold of. Putin is waiting for the west to be tired of supporting [Ukraine](https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/06/03/russia-putin-economy-attrition-war/). And the will to get peace at any cost ( specifically Ukraine’s cost) is exactly what he is counting on. Which is really worrying.

  15. After World War 1 France lost all courage… if it weren’t for Charles de Gaulle the fate of France might have been very different. World War 2 was just a disgrace for their military (yes I know that it can’t be applied to all Frenchmen at the time – but Frenchs’ resistance forces and their actions are often blowed out of the proportion).

  17. I’m French. Macron is the most hated president we ever had, but we are forced to have him because of our shitty democracy. Trust me Poles, we, French people, are not agreeing with what our president say.
    If the true will of the French people was follow, our soldiers would already be in Ukraine. And I say this as a future soldier myself.

    So don’t think we agree with the decisions of Macron
