  1. Merkel brings in NS2, Merkel warns against decoupling from China. What else?

I am pretty glad Merkel ends her career already. If she didnt see that Europe has to stride for energetic and technological independence from these countries, she never will.

  2. Unpopular Opinion: Eastern/Central European countries need to decouple from Germany. They are not an ally, and are indirectly funding Russian attempts at destabilizing the region.

  3. You might decouple from China but China will for sure not decouple from you. All of their industry is based on intellectual theft.

  4. Guys, don’t downvote the post because you disagree with the message. Upvote for visibility, so more people realize what Merkel and Germany are really all about.

  5. I have this critique of our domestic politicians that many say something along the lines of “We should pursue European integration at all costs” or “European integration is our primary concern”. Nice sentiment, but when you say it out loud then you lose your negotiating position, the other side knows you’ll give in to their demand no matter what, so they treat you accordingly.

Similarly when Merkel says that certain things should be off the table, it simply strengthens China’s negotiating position. Why should they enforce better IP laws or pursue IP thieves, if Germany isn’t going to do anything about it?

  6. China is a very important economy and it would definitely be nice if we can trade with them while protecting ourselves from political interference., IP theft and acquisitions.

Don’t listen to the crap coming from US media. Their government talks about decoupling from China while in reality they’re signing huge trade deals with China and pressuring them to increase imports.

  7. wth is wrong with her at the end of her reign? Talking behind backs with Lukashenko. And apparently now being pro-China.

  8. China has always been like this for 5000 years. And Europe has never had a problem with chinese autocracy before.
This sub needs to stop being so immediatist and self centered, as if the world was created in the year you (people who have a problem with China) were born. Or, as if there is a guarantee somewhere that democracy in the west in never going to change eventually, like it once did in Greece.

Let the hatred towards China be reserved for those who can only profit from a chinese implosion: the americans and the british. While these 3 nuke themselves to extinction, it is better for Europe to remain impartial to all sides.

“But muh western values represented by the americans…”
    – No, they don’t. The only value at stake here is about who is going to be the first one of these 3 to form a government of absolute global trade control. If you can’t see the danger in this, you’re just dumb.
