  1. strange country that prosecutes an art director for doing perfomance art. where be all the “free speech” warriors who should be up in arms protesting ’bout this indignity? young, fox, doyle, meechan, raab, tommy….

  2. I just had a quick read of ” Section 5 of the Public Order Act.

“(b)displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting”

Strange that they didn’t arrest the people installing the statue.

  3. The police in this country dont know there priorities. An egg isnt exactly criminal vandalization of a solid statue. But misleading parliament and demolishing country wide morality by billions taken in fraud from the pandemic. lawbreaking and Draconian laws that persecute protesters trying to do good by the planet. All of which if it was by anyone elses hand would be vandalism. You bribed bought for hire wankers. Totally unfit to constable the country.

  4. Break you own rules repeatedly and lie about it on tv for weeks, £50 fine

Throw eggs at a statue honoring a woman who helped ruin many families, £90 fine

    Just hilarious really.

  5. You would think they would know better than to put a statue up of that particular person during a time like this, and not expect what was to come.

And I’ve no doubt in my mind they have likely wasted more money (resources/manpower) babysitting the thing and prosecuting the egg thrower than the statue cost in the first place.. meanwhile never mind people affected by actual crime being given incident numbers and being told to practically FO

They should just take it down and be done with it, shove it at the back of a museum or something if need be

  6. So you can break the rules you made multiple times, flat out lie to the entire country, parliament and the queen and get a £50 fine, but throw some eggs at an inanimate object and you get a £90 fine ?

How does that make any fucking sense.

  7. Too bad they didn’t just have a party during one of the strictest lockdowns in November of last year. Could have saved themselves £40.

  8. They should put up a ticket barrier, I’m sure people would gladly pay for the experience of egging Thatcher’s statue. Could even offer a year’s membership and egg it as much as you want. Proceeds can go to pay the man on the booth and a worthy charity.

  9. Did he hurt the statues feelings? Where was her fine for the contempt she levelled at vast swathes of the country the feculent little bastard, where she belongs now in the ground.

  10. I dont really understand why she has a statue in the first place. Even if you ignore all the bad stuff she did, did she really do enough good things to warrant a statue?
