If you’re living under a rock and that rock is under an even bigger rock, it’s possible you haven’t heard — the pope is American and very, very woke.

And, he’s really against the US and Israel’s war with Iran. He’s talked about it multiple times, even calling for a ceasefire.

In a recent speech, Pope Leo XIV said, “On behalf of the Christians of the Middle East and all women and men of good will, I appeal to those responsible for this conflict. Ceasefire so that avenues for dialogue may be reopened. Violence can never lead to the justice, stability, and peace that the people are waiting for.”

A reporter then asked Donald Trump his thoughts on the pope’s call for a ceasefire. To which the FIFA Peace Prize recipient himself responded, “I don’t wanna do a ceasefire.”

This is not the first time the American pope and American president have been at odds. Time and time again, Pope Leo XIV has criticized the Trump administration.

And before Pope Leo XIV even became the leader of the Catholic Church, Trump was seemingly vying for that spot. As a joke??? I think????? He told reporters, “I’d like to be pope. That would be my number one choice.” He also tweeted this image of himself as pope.
