Ioannis Gutzianas is an Economist at the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies, where he serves as country expert for Czechia, Hungary, and Greece. His work focuses on macroeconomic modelling at the intersection of climate policy, labour markets, and monetary dynamics, with a particular interest in the distributional and structural effects of the green transition.

Before joining wiiw, he worked as a macroeconomic modeller at Cambridge Econometrics, contributing to projects on decarbonisation policies and sustainable finance for governments and international institutions. He holds an MA in Political Science from Central European University and a BA in Political Science from Corvinus University of Budapest.
