I always see these wooden houses in most pictures of southern germany, but does anyone actually live in them? What are they used for?

  1. Some are storage for hay, others are shelters for animals.

    The bigger ones may be used by farmers during the summer when their livestock is on the high pastures.

  3. These are sheds for hay, wood, etc. Not suitable for living there (though some of them may have a little room under the roof where you can sleep over if you don’t want to go home after a long evening … or if you need some privacy for … whatever reason 😉
