Russian propaganda outlets are touting the “success” of the talks held this week between a group of sanctioned Russian lawmakers and five members of Congress.

Across a dozen state media outlets and social media accounts, the talks were portrayed as “historic” and game-changing, with Russia using the invitation to come to the U.S. as a way to rehabilitate its own image.

The meeting between the Russian delegation and U.S. lawmakers was organized by GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a pro-Russia lawmaker and key node in Russia’s U.S.-facing propaganda network.
