The United Arab Emirates is facing a sharp rise in cyberattacks, with up to 700,000 incidents recorded daily, according to Mohammed Al Kuwaiti.
Speaking to local media, Al Kuwaiti said hostile actors, including those linked to Iran, are increasingly using artificial intelligence tools to conduct cyber operations such as reconnaissance, phishing and malware development. He added that AI has become central to modern cyber warfare, enabling faster and more sophisticated attacks, including disinformation campaigns.
Despite the surge, authorities said national cyber defence systems are detecting and containing most threats. Officials also urged the public to remain vigilant against phishing and misinformation as tensions in the region persist.
