Elering, Estonia’s national electricity and gas system operator, announced the launch of a dedicated digital platform designed to centralise renewable energy services and streamline wind energy auctions.

The new web portal is Elextra.ee, which will serve as a single point of access for producers, sellers, and consumers. It aggregates information on renewable energy auctions, subsidy tracking, and certification of origin, while providing analytical data on production and generation capacities.

Elering’s existing renewable energy unit will also adopt the “Elextra” name, operating under its own brand and contact details. Beyond managing auctions, Elextra’s mandate includes mediating subsidies, certifying the origin of low-carbon fuels, and managing the trading environment to support the transport sector’s transition away from fossil fuels. Elering hopes that its digital solutions contribute to the development of distributed generation and enable both domestic and cross-border renewable energy trading.

“The services and solutions created to support the transition towards climate neutrality will gain a clearer focus with this update, simplifying the journey to the desired service for renewable energy producers, sellers, and consumers,” said River Tomera, Elering’s Head of Renewable Energy Development.
