SpaceX And Amazon Given Regulations Necessary For Operations In Türkiye

The satellite industry in Türkiye is growing, and big global players are looking to have a share in this growth. However, to be able to operate in the region, there are regulatory and security conditions these firms have to meet.

During the SATShow expo 2026 held in Washington, Ömer Fatih Sayan, the Deputy Transport and Infrastructure Minister of Türkiye, held negotiations with SpaceX and Amazon. These negotiations bordered on the regulatory and security conditions that these firms need to meet to be able to operate within the region.

For now, there are no details on the outcome of the negotiations, but Türkiye is open to working with these firms. The operations of SpaceX and Amazon LEO satellites in Türkiye are now dependent on whether the satellite firms comply with Türkiye’s regulatory and security conditions.

Once these firms comply with these regulations, a road map towards the adoption of LEO satellites will be presented. More details on these negotiations will be made available over the course of the coming months.
