Stefano Ghisolfi is climbing in Ticino, Switzerland and over the span of 11 days he climbed three V15s. Ghisolfi is most well-known for his cutting-edge sport climbing, but recently, he has made a concerted effort to improve his bouldering game. With seven V15s and one V16 on his resume, all racked up only since June 2025, it’s safe to say that the Italian climber is cementing his reputation as a boulderer.
Ghisolfi first big success of his Ticino trip was a send of Fred Nicole’s infamous Dreamtime, the world’s first V15. The problem was graded V15 when first established, but subsequent ascensionists, including Dave Graham, Chris Sharma and Adam Ondra, downgraded it to V14. In 2009, a crux hold broke, resulting in an upgrade of the problem to V15. Many top climbers have climbed Dreamtime post-break, including Paul Robinson, Simon Lorenzi, Giuliano Cameroni, Yannick Flohé, Pietro Vidi, Janja Garnbret, and Michaela Kiersch, among others.
A few days after his Dreamtime send, Ghisolfi topped Dave Graham’s The Story of 2 Worlds. The climb is a sit-start of The Dagger V14 and was established by Graham back in 2005. Paul Robinson got the second ascent, and many other ascents followed, including those from Jernej Kruder, Carlo Traversi, Giuliano Cameroni, Jimmy Webb, Sungsu Lee, and more.
On March 28, Ghisolfi climbed 4-Low. “My third [V15] of the trip, almost went down in a session, did it on my second day,” said Ghisolfi on Instagram. “Amazing line in Bavona discovered by Giuliano Cameroni and first ascended by Daniel Woods.” According to Woods, 4-Low is hard for the grade, featuring 13 intense moves, linking a seven-move V14 into a six-move V12. Dave Graham picked up the second ascent in 2022.
Ghisolfi is one of the best sport climbers in the world. He has four 5.15c routes to his name: Perfecto Mundo, Change, Bibliography, and Excalibur. In 2025, Ghisolfi climbed three 5.15b’s in Spain – The Full Journey in Margalef, Chris Sharma’s Sleeping Lion in Siurana, and Neanderthal in Lleida. He is also racking up quite the bouldering resume. In June 2025, he climbed Anam Cara Low V15 in Silvapark, Austria. On a trip to Ticino, Switzerland, in August 2025, he topped Hazel Grace V15 and Andularia V15. In September, he climbed Flow State V15 in Val Daone, Italy. In February this year, he climbed Gioia V16 in Varazze, Italy. Adam Ondra’s Silence is a longstanding megaproject of Ghisolfi’s. Time will tell if his bouldering skills will give him the edge he needs for Silence’s long-awaited second ascent.
