Another plaque commemorating a visit to Inverness by the royal formerly known as Prince Andrew HRH is to be removed.

Highland Council says it believes it was the last remaining reference to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Earl of Inverness, on their city properties.
After receiving a complaint from a member of the public, we contacted the council to ask if they had plans to remove the metallic inscription attached to the walled entrance to Greig Street Bridge.

We also asked if there had been a review of whether other such plaques or inscriptions exist on or within their portfolio of properties.
The latest to be found was placed within the structure of the River Ness Flood Alleviation Scheme on December 13, 2016, in a ceremony attended by the disgraced royal, whose friendship with the dead convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein has provoked outrage and disgust.
Found on the western side of the bridge, it was already badly weathered, rusted and covered in illegible graffiti.

The member of the public who contacted us did not wish to be named, but said: “I was a wee bit shocked, all these weeks and months after he was shamed and disgraced, to realise that the plaque was there.
“It has been a month or two since his arrest and other plaques were removed. How many other plaques and portraits of that disgusting man are there knocking about council buildings?”

But Highland Council is confident that the Greig Street Bridge plaque is the last they will need to remove.
A spokeswoman said: “The plaque is in the process of being removed.
“There have been no other references to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor identified on council property.”
