Where the Light Goes Quiet expo

Head to the BIL’s independent gallery and discover a selection of works by the artist Monique Becker. Enter Becker’s unique universe where black is not the absence of light or colour but a space of silence, density and introspection. The exhibition brings together a selection of works that showcase the evolution of artistic practice over time.

Opening: Women in War photo expo

American photo reporter Lynsey Addario has spent more than twenty years capturing the impact of the war on landscapes and people. In this expo, the focus is put on the life of women through the war – be it motherhood, survival or resilience in war zones – in countries like Afghanistan, South Sudan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Ukraine. The expo is open on 4 April, 30 May and 27 June.

Guided tour of the Brasserie Nationale brewery

For the beer fans: explore the Brasserie Nationale – home to Bofferding, Battin and Funck-Bricher – and learn more about its two-century-long history. Tour participants will be able to taste unfilitered beer (Gezwéckelten) as well as take part in a tasting session.

Learning opportunities

Language café at the Rotondes

Every month, the ‘Table des langues’ comes together at the Rotondes to create a space where participants can practice their language skills in an informal setting. Volunteers will keep the conversation flowing at various tables, so that participants can improve on the language they chose to learn. Note: Registration is encouraged.

Learn to ride a bike in 8 days

If you never got around to learning how to bike, here is your chance. Cycling organisation Provelo is running a workshop for adults that promises to teach you how to safely ride a bike and navigate the streets in just a few hours. Participants will be provided the necessary equipment. Note: Registration required ahead of time.

Curated club night at De Gudde Wëllen

Franz Ferdinand concert

Following the release of their seventh album – The Human Fear, Franz Ferdinand is making a stop in Luxembourg before heading towards a busy festival season across Europe, Australia and Japan. Irnini Mons, a band from Lyon in France will open the festivities.

Whether you practiced it in the 80s or picked up the hobby during its popularity boom in 2020, get ready to warm up your knees and wrists and head down to GridX for an afternoon on roller skates! Music, lights, fun outfits and skates (until supply lasts) are provided, you just need to bring your boogie to the venue (you may also bring your own skates if you have them).
