
WANA (Apr 02) – The Iranian Army announced in Statement No. 52 that it had carried out a drone operation targeting a U.S. military site hosting advanced fighter jets in Jordan.
According to the statement, the operation began in the early hours of today, with Iranian forces striking the Al-Azraq Air Base using attack drones. The statement emphasized that the action was conducted in commemoration of fallen martyrs and in response to hostile actions.
Al-Azraq Air Base is considered one of the most strategic command and operational centers for U.S. forces in West Asia, playing a key role in directing advanced fighter jets as well as surveillance and combat drone missions. The Iranian Army stated that the aim of the strike was to weaken the enemy’s aerial and operational capabilities.
The statement further reaffirmed the Iranian Army’s commitment to defending the country’s sovereignty and responding to threats, adding that, with public support and the determination of its armed forces, it will continue to act decisively against its adversaries.
