Olivia Attwood has been warned that her decision to publicly accuse Bradley Dack of “lying and cheating” could “go either way” following the news of her fake marriage .
The former Love Island star, 34, called time on her marriage to football player Bradley Dack, 32, earlier this year, and then broke her silence on the matter where she accused him of “lying and cheating” multiple times during the decade they had been together.
But in the days before she released her bombshell statement, it emerged that even though Olivia and Bradley had documented their nuptials through her ITVX reality show Olivia Marries Her Match, the wedding was not legally binding.

Before Olivia released her shocking statement, it was claimed that Olivia and Bradley had planned to sign legal documents at a registry office in Cheshire after their “wedding”. But there is reportedly no official record of the marriage. It’s claimed that Olivia chose not to make the marriage legally binding due to “mistruths”.
It was then claimed that ITV bosses only discovered the marriage wasn’t legally binding when news reports emerged over the weekend. Sources told MailOnline that bosses were completely “blindsided” by the bombshell news.

Now, PR expert and celebrity agent Dermot McNamara, has weighed in on the matter, telling The Mirror: “I think Olivia was hoping the speculation around her ‘wedding’ would die down.
“A lot of people bought into the fairy tale; they watched the reality shows; bought the magazines; and listened to how they rekindled their romance, after Olivia dumped Brad to go on Love Island after catching him cheating, so when questions start to surface, it’s inevitable that fans feel a bit misled or disappointed.
“There was already noise around Brad’s alleged infidelities, as well as Olivia’s closeness with Pete Wicks, which appears to have now crossed into something more. In that situation, it can be easier to get ahead of the narrative slightly, to throw something out there so people have a version to focus on, rather than continuing to dig or draw their own, often more extreme, conclusions.
“In terms of impact, it could go either way. Some will see her as being open and taking control, which can build sympathy. Others may feel it raises more questions than it answers, or trying to bait a response, which can invite further scrutiny. It’s a bit of a double-edged sword.
“Olivia strikes me as quite instinctive and by her own admission, impulsive. My sense is this was likely driven by her in the moment, although it’s not impossible her team were aware and advised.

“I actually think she’s made the point she wanted to make and communicated it clearly. From a PR perspective, I think she’s said enough for the time being. I’d strongly advise against is further reactive posting, so things like memes, cryptic quotes or overly ‘relatable’ content once you’ve done that, there’s no going back. That can quickly tip into looking contrived or even antagonistic and it risks undermining the message she’s already put out.”
Since her rise to fame on Love Island, Olivia has become an ITV favourite with her role as a regular panellist on Loose Women, and she has also hosted a string of documentaries and starred in several reality shows for the broadcaster. When it comes to her working relationship with the network, Dermot believes her future with them is safe but they will want to ascertain some sort of “clarity” from her regarding the wedding.
He added: “ITV will likely want clarity, particularly around any suggestion that the wedding wasn’t legally binding, given how heavily they’ve invested in that storyline.
“They’ve backed and invested significantly into Olivia over the past few years from her engagement and wedding coverage through to documentaries, dating formats, cooking shows and plum presenting gigs on shows like Loose Women and This Morning.
“She’s become a key talent for them, delivering commercially, with over 200 million streams on ITVX and would very much be considered part of their next-generation talent pool. It was only a couple of weeks ago, she was attending the Brit Awards, sitting on the ITV table, seated beside ITV’s CEO Dame Carolyn McCall, which shows the level they see her operating at.
“So while this situation may raise questions internally, she remains a multi-million-pound brand for ITV in terms of ratings, ad revenue and her overall profile. The focus for them will be on ascertaining exactly what happened, they will want reassurance that the investment in her was worthwhile and that they can manage any reputational risk and viewer backlash.”
