When we think of economic drivers, we often picture sprawling industrial parks, bustling tech hubs or towering financial institutions. Rarely do we picture the unassuming office of the local chamber of commerce. Yet, behind the thriving storefronts of 120th Avenue and the steady hum of U.S. 36 and Highway 7 sits an organization working tirelessly to keep our economic engine running — the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce.

At its core, a chamber of commerce is a fiercely dedicated champion for local enterprise. It serves as a convener, bringing together both budding entrepreneurs and established corporate citizens. Chambers do the unglamorous but necessary work of community-building: facilitating vital networking opportunities and providing the educational frameworks necessary for businesses to navigate an ever-shifting economic landscape.

Looking back at the past year, as highlighted in the recently published 2026 Annual Report — covering 2025 activities — the tangible impact of the Broomfield Area Chamber is nothing short of remarkable. In a year marked by complex economic headwinds, the Chamber delivered. Among its crowning achievements were the addition of more than 130 new member businesses, strong retention near 80%, and delivering high-impact events that brought business leaders, community partners, and elected officials together around shared priorities. The Chamber also elevated its digital reach and visibility, dramatically increasing social media impressions and overall community awareness. Together, these efforts reinforced the Chamber’s role as a driving force for economic vitality, collaboration and opportunity across Broomfield.

Furthermore, the Chamber fostered a renewed spirit of collaboration in our city through supporting nonprofit collaboration. Guided by our Nonprofit Committee, the Chamber strengthens partnerships between nonprofits and local businesses to amplify community impact. By hosting more than 160 networking events, including 34 ribbon-cutting ceremonies, we successfully lived out our mission statement showcasing that this is the essential platform “Where Business Meets Community.” The organization also advocated on key state legislation related to construction defects, price gouging, and film festival tax incentives, taking clear positions on issues important to the business community.

These milestones represent more than just impressive statistics on the glossy pages of an annual report. They represent jobs created, businesses strengthened and a localized resilience that insulates our community against broader market volatility.

We too often take our vibrant local economy for granted, assuming that a thriving business ecosystem happens by accident. It does not. It is cultivated through the deliberate, persistent efforts of advocates who believe in the potential of Broomfield. As we push forward into 2026, we should recognize the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce for what it truly is: the indispensable, beating heart of our community’s prosperity.
