Renalfa Power Clusters, a joint venture between Renalfa Solarpro Group and RGREEN INVEST, has recently acquired two renewable assets in Romania. The portfolio includes Horia 2, a solar asset with 365 MW capacity, and a standalone BESS with 400 MW/800 MWh capacity. Both the assets are located in West Romania, and are scheduled to reach commercial launch in 2027. The company said it will combine and redesign both projects into a single Horia-Arad power cluster. In the first phase of expansion, PV capacity is projected to increase to 568 MWp, while storage capacity is planned to rise to 669 MW / 2,000 MWh. The second phase will add another 400 MW / 1,608 MWh standalone BESS, potentially with more PV. The statement has also added that the fully built cluster is planned to use Lithium-Ion and Sodium-Ion batteries, grid-forming inverter technology, and an AI-driven dispatch and control platform.
